By now everyone in Canada and around the world has taken notice of what has been going on in Fort McMurray, Ab. It pretty devastating to see an entire city burned to the ground. The good thing is all of our amazing Canadian peoples got out alive and every one is safe. I am not going to talk about the negative or what the PM has or has not done, but rather focus on what is being done by everyday heroes in Canada for all of the displaced people and families. Like we even needed another reason to be the best people and country in the world right? Though Fort McMurray is currently in ruins, it will not always be that way and 30 million Canadians will make sure of that.
By now most of you have seen through social media all of the people stepping up in big ways on the highways with gas, food, shelter etc. There are also people donating money to various organizations to help with the crisis relief. Watching all the vids on social media makes me proud to be Canadian, but it doesn’t surprise me one bit. We are the most giving country in the world, and not even just to our own country but to other countries as well (sometimes to a fault). Though many of the people who are giving this money out of pocket are at times the people who have very little to give, they do not second guess handing over the money at all.
We are the best country in the world, because our people are the best people in the world and I truly do believe that. While we obviously have work to do together with various peoples of our country, it will get done in due time ( o something I truly do believe).
We give what we have, no matter how big or small to the people of Fort McMurray because we know that if this crisis had happened in our own backyard they would not hesitate to have our back no matter what province we are from. We are all Canadian and we all stand together in times of need for our people and that’s the way it should be.
Fellow Canadians, we are the best people in the world and we should not be apologizing for it. We should be embracing it with humility and pride and continue being awesome!
To all of those affected by the wildfires in Fort McMurray, we love you, we feel ya, and we got you! Keep your head up, we will get through this thing together.
Oh Canada, our home and native land. You my Heroes!
